Steps to hair loss treatment

Categories: News & InformationTags: , , , Author:

The first step of your hair loss treatment, known as the initial consultation or preliminary examination, is your first visit to the hair therapist.  This is where they will try to identify the problem, the cause of the problem; whether there are any lifestyle changes or steps you can take to help correct the problem, and whether or not the clinic has an effective treatment available.  You may also be asked to answer some basic questions about your lifestyle, and other factors that can contribute to hair loss.

After your initial consultation, if it is determined that there is a program suited to your needs, then you’ll be asked to return for further diagnosis.  You will be asked to visit our hair restoration clinic in Dubai. This will be your final diagnosis, and will involve a thorough examination of your scalp, hair type, amount of hair, hair quality, and any pattern of possible hair loss.  In addition, blood circulation, scalp sebum production, and a number of other relevant factors will be examined and considered in your final evaluation.

Once this has been completed, a packet of information and products will usually be provided to you, including special shampoos and treatments for your hair, with specific instructions concerning their use and frequency of use.  This is where your real treatment will begin.

Once you’ve returned home, you’ll begin using the shampoos and treatments as instructed by your therapist.  Approximately 3 to 4 weeks after beginning your home therapy, you should expect a follow-up consultation.  In this consultation you will be questioned about your eating habits.  This is because research has shown that a combination of nutritional supplements and dietary changes can significantly improve the effectiveness of hair and scalp treatment programs.

Finally, the most intensive part of your treatment will begin.  Every day or every other day, you will be required to apply extract and shampoo treatments to your hair and scalp.  These steps will be done by you, in your own home, and you will be responsible for maintaining the program as recommended by your therapist.  In time the intensity and frequency of this treatment will decrease to the point that most clients maintain results with weekly treatment, supported by annual checkups.

The average monthly cost per treatment should be less than $200 during the most intensive part of the treatment phase, with costs reducing as the frequency of treatment decreases.  A typical treatment schedule will be similar to the following:

  • Daily treatment: 3-4 months.
  • Treatment every other day: 4-6 months.
  • Treatment twice a week: 6 months.
  • Maintenance therapy: 1 time weekly.

Always keep in mind that each treatment for hair loss therapy is unique to the individual, and the above is just an example of a typical timeline.  You may find that your own treatment is more or less intensive, depending on your own individual needs.

By identifying a suitable hair therapist, such as Haarklinikken, your hair loss treatment program can be simple and effective, as outlined above. Depending on the severity of your hair loss, you may also consider opting for hair transplants.
